Meet the Circuit’s Newest Judges

Meet the newest judges at the Ninth Circuit! By January of 2019, eight new judges joined the bench. Six were elected – Judges Arendas, Ashton, Carter, Sanders, Shaffer, and Young. Two were appointed – Judges Beamer and Wish. And they all have been an incredible addition to the bench. Christine E. Arendas

Osceola County Judge Christine E. Arendas was elected in 2018. She currently serves in the Osceola County Criminal Division.

Jeffrey L. Ashton

Circuit Judge

Judge Ashton was elected to the Circuit bench in 2018. He currently serves in the Domestic Violence Division in Orange County.

Denise Kim Beamer

Judge Beamer was appointed to the Circuit bench in 2019 by Governor Scott. She currently serves in the Circuit Criminal Division in Orange County.

Amy J. Carter

Orange County Judge

Orange County Judge Amy J. Carter was elected in 2018. She currently serves in the Orange County Specialized Division.

Gabrielle N. Sanders

Osceola County Judge

Osceola County Judge Gabrielle N. Sanders was elected in 2018. She currently serves in the Osceola County Civil Division.

Laura Shaffer

Circuit Judge

Judge Shaffer was elected to the Circuit bench in 2018. She currently serves in the Unified Family Court Division in Osceola County.

Carly S. Wish

Orange County Judge

Judge Wish was appointed to the Orange County bench in 2019 by Governor Scott. She currently serves in the Specialized Division in Orange County.

Tom Young

Circuit Judge

Judge Young was elected to the Circuit bench in 2018. He currently serves in the Circuit Criminal Division in Orange County.
