Residents have been receiving calls from scammers notifying them that there is an outstanding warrant for their arrest for failure to report for jury duty. The callers advise that payment must be made or else the resident will be arrested.
In the Ninth Circuit, neither the Jury Services Departments nor law enforcement agencies contact citizens via phone to solicit monies for failure to report for jury duty. If you are contacted by anyone stating that you have an outstanding warrant for failure to report for jury service, hang up and contact Osceola County Jury Services at 407-742-2421 or Orange County Jury Services at 407-836-2206.
