In an effort to recognize the invaluable service of jurors in Orange and Osceola counties, Ninth Circuit Chief Judge Frederick J. Lauten declared the week of May 4, 2015 “Juror Appreciation Week.”  Each morning, jurors were afforded the opportunity to have their photos taken with a judge and to receive an 8 X 10 glossy print they could take home. All reporting jurors were provided a Certificate of Appreciation signed by Judge Lauten.

While taking their photos, jurors were able to interact with the judges. The “meet and greet” gave jurors an up-close perspective of the judiciary and allowed judges to personally thank the jurors for the vital role they play in our system of justice.

As the week progressed, an increasing number of jurors chose to have their pictures taken with one of the twelve participating judges. By week’s end, over 300 jurors had received complimentary photographs.

The active involvement of our judges and the hard work of Jury Services and Court Administration staff made Juror Appreciation Week a huge success.
