In the face of something as pervasive and insidious as opiate addiction, one person or organization is unlikely to hold all the answers. Enter the Central Florida Collective Impact on Opioid Abuse (Project Opioid), created in early 2019, which strives to mobilize local leaders in Osceola, Orange, and Seminole Counties to work together to find clear, effective solutions to end this crisis.

Judge Gisela Laurent joined Project Opioid's Board, alongside local decision-makers and representatives from organizations such as Florida Blue, Red Lobster, AdventHealth, Orange and Seminole County Sheriff's Offices, Tijuana Flats, Orange County Mayor's Office, Bank of America, WKMG News 6, Nemours Children's Hospital and more.
