Position description

The Visitation Center Program Specialist position is a non-advocate, professional full-time position, responsible for assisting in coordinating, implementing and overseeing the daily and weekend operations of the Supervised Visitation Center and ensuring program compliance with court policy and procedures. Provide direct services to parents and children referred by the Court. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Visitation Center Coordinator. Provide a variety of complex and specialized administrative functions. Maintain open communication for the dissemination of information with judges and court personnel. Must exercise independent judgment and discretion in maintaining confidentiality on sensitive issues.

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university, with a major in sociology, social work, psychology, child development, education, communications or a related social science field, and one year of experience in a program of social service or counseling. Responsible experience working with a Family Court Program or Family Court Service, victim’s issues or related social service delivery program may substitute for the recommended education on a year-for-year basis.

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to remain neutral and interact successfully with diverse populations and age groups. Knowledge of supervised and monitored exchange programs, guidelines and issues. Knowledge of court and case management procedures and terminology. Knowledge of Florida Court System, including the court process on family and domestic violence cases. Knowledge of domestic violence, sexual and physical assault, and family dynamics issues. This position requires working weekends and after regular business hours as needed, except holidays. This includes traveling to the Supervised Visitation Center on weekends. Fluency in Spanish and English is required to fill this position. Osceola County funded with benefits.
