Position description

The Ninth Judicial Circuit seeks a qualified Scopist. This position’s duties include, but are not limited to, assisting official court reporters with final transcript production utilizing Eclipse software. The ideal candidate will have court reporting/scoping experience, the ability to read stenographic notes, and familiarity with the Eclipse software. Training on the Eclipse software may be provided to a selected strong candidate. Preferred skills and knowledge also include having a background working in transcription, an understanding of court procedures and terminology and strong grammar, punctuation, and proofreading skills. The selected candidate will have the ability to deal with sensitive information and issues while maintaining very strict professional confidence. This position may choose to work in Orange or Osceola County.

This is a State funded positon. OPS (Other Personnel Services), $16.61/hr. OPS/Variable hour employees may be eligible for insurance coverage. No holiday pay, sick or vacation time accrued. Up to 40 hours per week except for holiday weeks for an indefinite period.
