Position description

This position works with families who are court ordered to participate in the supervised visitation or monitored exchange program through the Court’s Family Ties Visitation Center in Orange County. Observers are responsible for ensuring appropriate contact between families; observing interactions closely and allowing the families to enjoy quality time together that is appropriate and non-threatening; and documenting interactions between parents and children. Other duties entail escorting children between the primary residential parent and visiting parent, and assisting with the weekend operations of the visitation center.

High school graduate with a minimum of two years course work toward a degree in education or a human services field is preferred, or high school graduate with two years of progressively responsible experience in family/victims issues or related social service program. Must have excellent verbal and writing skills, and the ability to remain neutral and interact successfully with diverse populations and age groups. Bilingual, Spanish/English, preferred but not required.

$15.30/hour. Orange County funded position. No benefits or paid leave. This is weekend work only; candidates must be available Saturdays 8:00 am -12:00 pm & Sunday 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm.; the program is closed on holiday weekends.
