Juvenile Drug Court Case Manager

Position description

The Juvenile Drug Court Case Manager position provides intensive case management services for juvenile diversion participants and juvenile dependency drug court participants. The individual will be required to identify and assess potential program participants, collaborate with a team in order to define goals and develop strategies for participant success, identify and connect service needs to participants, and provide intensive supportive case management to the participants. This position is required to conduct observed urinalysis testing. Must be capable of administering specialized assessment and screening tools through in-person interviews. Contact with participants in their school and community environment and contact with service providers is a regular occurrence. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, collecting and maintaining required participant data, monitoring and tracking participant progress, and participating in court status hearings. Position will require flexibility to work evening hours and travel locally, as needed.

Must exercise a high degree of judgement, discretion and maintain confidentiality. Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated, but must also work closely and coordinate with judges, state agencies, treatment providers and community resources. Ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and communication skills. Position requires working knowledge of the criminal juvenile justice system and substance abuse field. Seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in criminal justice, social work or related social science fields and two years of case management experience. Progressively responsible experience in a related field may substitute for the recommended college education on a year for year basis. Substance abuse certification preferred. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus. Orange County funded positon. This position will be located at the Juvenile Justice Center.
