Position description

The Ninth Judicial Circuit Court seeks a Court Program Specialist II - Peer Support Specialist to provide a multitude of essential functions regarding assistance of clients in a restrictive and non-restrictive environment. These functions include but are not limited to providing individual coaching and advocacy to assist clients in navigating treatment providers, child welfare, general resources, monitoring of client progress, completing necessary documentation, and communicating effectively in both written and verbal format. Most importantly, all functions must be completed while maintaining high standards of ethical and professional conduct while adhering to agency policies and procedures. Position will require flexibility to work evening hours and travel locally, as needed.

Must exercise a high degree of judgement, discretion and maintain confidentiality. Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated, but must also work closely and coordinate with judges, state agencies, treatment providers and community resources. Ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and communication skills. Position requires working knowledge of substance abuse field. Substance abuse certification preferred. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus. This is a State funded position. OPS (Other Personnel Services) $21.96 at 40 hours per week for an indefinite period. OPS/Variable hour employees may be eligible for insurance coverage. No holiday pay, sick or vacation time accrued. This position will be located at the Orange County Courthouse.
