This position works on an intimate team of four HR professionals and is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support to the Human Resources Department. The role’s primary function is to administer the recruitment and hiring process, including setting interviews, and verifying work history. Performs routine tasks, such as screening telephone calls/visitors, preparing correspondence, distributing mail, photocopying and faxing.
This position is the initial contact for the Human Resources Department and therefore must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft computer programs, effective use of business English, spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Ability to handle sensitive matters with integrity and confidentiality concerning sensitive information. Must be able to exercise independent judgement and have the ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, government officials, and the public. Requires basic knowledge of Employment Law, FML, ADA and Workers Compensation.
Associate's degree or additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis. One year of experience in business administration, administrative skills, or a closely related field. Additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis, excluding supervisory experience.
