The Administrative Assistant II position assists the Mediation Program Director by providing extensive administrative support. This position demands a significant level of customer service skills, as it is responsible for scheduling mediations, answering phones, interacting daily with the public, and working with volunteer and contract mediators. The ideal candidate for this position will be self-motivated with the ability to work closely with others, have excellent organizational and communication skills, possess the ability to maintain confidentiality, and have the ability to deal with sensitive issues using diplomacy and discretion. A general understanding of computers, word processing, database software, and basic office skills is also preferred. Duties will include scheduling mediations, answering phones, filing, assisting litigants in person, via phone, and through correspondence, and any other tasks assigned by the Mediation Program Director.
A Bachelor’s Degree in public or business administration, criminal justice, psychology, sociology, pre-law, or a closely related social science field is preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for required education on a year-for-year basis. Bilingual in Spanish desirable. This is a part-time position, 20 hours per week. State funded position with benefits.
