Jurors to Report
Whether or not you are selected to serve on a jury, your participation is critical to one of the most fundamental principals of our free society - the right to a jury trial. Your participation as a juror is essential to our common law system of justice. Our system affords all persons going to trial the opportunity to have the facts of their cases determined by a jury of their peers. The Judges of the Ninth Judicial Circuit thank you in advance for your service. We hope you find your jury service to be an interesting and positive experience.
Term of Service: When summoned for jury service, you will appear for the length of one trial or one day. The majority of jurors complete their service in one day. If selected to serve on a trial, the length of service is generally three days. We reserve the right to have jurors "on call"
Report Instruction: You must call for recorded instructions the evening before your report date to determine if your services will be required. Please call anytime after 5:15p.m. at 407-343-2424, (recorder available 24 hours a day). If unable to access the telephone recorder, please continue trying or report for jury duty as directed on your summons. Your need to have your juror number available when calling the recorder. Your juror number is listed on your summons.
Compensation: The first three days of jury service: 1) If your employer pays you regular wages for jury service you will not receive compensation; 2) If you are unemployed or your employer does not pay you your regular wages, you will be compensated fifteen dollars per day. On the fourth day of jury service and beyond: All jurors receive thirty dollars per day. There is no reimbursement for mileage.

Request for Postponement/Excusal: If you have a scheduling conflict and/or extreme hardship, you can request a postponement from your assigned service date to a date more convenient with your schedule. Your first postponement request will be granted upon demand. Additional requests, however, will be granted only if you can prove undue hardship.
There are very few statutory reasons for being excused from jury duty. If you feel that you should be exempt or excused from your service obligation, you can submit the request to the Jury Duty Judge. All requests must be mailed or submitted on-line no less than ten (10) days prior to the report date to:
