Whether or not you are selected to serve on a jury, your participation is critical to one of the most fundamental principles of our free society - the right to a jury trial. Your participation as a juror is essential to our common law system of justice. Our system affords all persons going to trial the opportunity to have the facts of their cases determined by a jury of their peers. The Judges of the Ninth Judicial Circuit thank you in advance for your service. We hope you find your jury service to be an interesting and positive experience.
Term of Service: Jury duty will normally last for one day or the completion of one trial. If you are not selected to serve on a trial after the first day of your service, you will most likely be excused. Jury service may be extended beyond these limits to meet the needs of the Court.
Report Instruction: A recorded message provides jurors with specific reporting information. You must call 407-836-2048 after 5:00 p.m. on the day before you are to report, even if this day is a Sunday or a holiday, to be informed by a recorded message whether your service will be required. You may be placed on standby. If the telephone recording is not operational, report for jury duty as directed by your summons. If you do not have a touch tone phone, or need assistance, please call 407-836-2206 before 5:00 p.m. on the day before you are to report.
Compensation: You will be compensated fifteen dollars per day for the first three days of service if you are unemployed or your employer does not pay you your regular wage. If your employer pays you your regular wage, you will not be compensated for the first three days of service. On the fourth day and beyond all jurors receive thirty dollars per day compensation. Sorry, but there is no reimbursement for mileage.
Juror Parking: Juror parking is provided at the "Centroplex Garage II" on Alexander Place, just east of the Amway Arena. Please pull a ticket upon entering the facility. Park on the second floor or above. Bring your ticket with you when reporting for jury duty. Be sure to ride the Lymo (free bus shuttle) to downtown. Disembark at the Courthouse. You will receive continued parking privileges for the remainder of your service.

Request for Postponement/Excusal: If you have a scheduling conflict and/or extreme hardship, you can request a postponement from your assigned service date to a date more convenient with your schedule. Your first postponement request will be granted upon demand. Additional requests, however, will be granted only if you can prove undue hardship.
There are very few statutory reasons for being excused from jury duty. If you feel that you should be exempt or excused from your service obligation, you can submit the request to the Jury Duty Judge. All requests must be mailed or submitted on-line no less than ten (10) days prior to the report date to:
