Inside the Courts

Orlando - - It’s time once again to open the courthouse doors and step Inside the Courts. A free four-week class that gives you a behind-the-scenes look at the court system will be offered in 2009. The program, in addition to providing the public with an up-close examination of the workings of the judicial branch of government, addresses some of the more frequently asked questions, such as:
- "What do Judges consider when imposing sentences?"
- "What happens to juveniles who break the law?"
- "Are all individuals who are charged with a crime eligible for bail?"
- “What is a domestic violence injunction?”
- “How many people are on death row in Florida?”
The program is taught by a team of more than one dozen Judges. Participants will gain a greater understanding of the court system and the importance of the judicial process. Participants who complete this four-part program will receive certificates recognizing that achievement.
Inside the Courts will be held in the Jury Assembly Room on the first floor of the Orange County Courthouse, 425 North Orange Avenue, in downtown Orlando. There is NO CHARGE to attend this program.
The program is held on four consecutive Tuesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. A free four-week class that gives you a behind-the-scenes look at the court system will be offered in 2009.
