Wednesday, November 12, 2008, 3:00 p.m.
Circuit Judge Robert Evans will hold court this Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 3:00 p.m at the Orange County Regional History Center Historic Courtroom to finalize the adoptions of 7 children and the creation of Central Florida’s newest families. While adoption finalization is typically private matter, the families in these proceedings have agreed to share their joy of adoption to celebrate November as National Adoption Month and to encourage others to consider the benefits of adoption. Judge Evans makes it a priority to participate in this event each year in order to promote adoption of the thousands of children across Central Florida still in need of permanent homes . “As an adoptive parent, I know how special adoption is,” said the Judge, “This will be a monumental day for these children, but there are still thousands of other children in our community waiting for their special day.” The ceremony is a collaborative effort between the courts, Family Services of Metro Orlando and their partner agencies. The event kicks off at 3:00 p.m. at the Orange County Regional History Center, 65 E. Central Blvd.,Orlando, Florida 32801. Media are welcome and encouraged to attend.
